I was in the market for a good laser printer for home use, I was looking for something all in one as I use the fax functionality quite a bit. I thought picking out a printer these days would be an easy task especially for a geek like me, boy was I wrong! After sifting through so many mixed reviews, I decided to give the Brother MFC9330CDW a try, sadly I had to return it within a few days, you can read more on that here (in progress). Hassle free returns without any cost to the customer is the reason why I love buying from Amazon.
M477fdw Review & Purchase Options
Anyways, I’ve finally decided on this HP Laserjet Pro M477fdw. It cost me few bucks more than the Brother MFC9330CDW but it was worth every penny. Print jobs come out crazy fast and I have it connected through Wi-Fi! Sleep and wake response times are very reasonable. You can also directly connect it via a USB port through Ethernet. It doesn’t make a lot of noise while printing which is a plus. Print jobs come out in excellent quality, I am still running on the stock toner even after 2 months of use. The main advantage of the M477fdw is the fact that it can print & scan in duplex (both sides in a single pass) and there are no paper jams while doing so. Duplex printing and scanning is one of the sought after features by customers. This printer is also able to scan to email or a network share directly which is a plus. You can print from any of your Apple devices such as the iPhone as the M477fdw support air print. Some people said they had difficulty seeing the printer on their Apple devices while the printer is in sleep mode, I haven’t come across any such issues.
I have tested the fax functionality on this printer using my ACN Voice Over IP phone service and it worked flawlessly. If you have fax issues with this printer, it will be mostly due to your phone providers network, especially if they are VOIP. You may need 2 people to set the M477fdw in place as it weighs around 59 pounds. Software and drivers comes with the printer in a disc or you may download it from HP’s website. The software will walk you through the setup process. Be sure to also pickup some great quality paper during your purchase HP LaserJet Paper. The printouts on this paper from a HP M477fdw looks and even feels amazing. This printer can also accept legal size paper.
I highly recommend the HP Laserjet Pro M477fdw Wireless All-in-One Color Printer for a home or small business. So if you are a law firm or in the real estate business, this printer will suit your needs very well. Print outs are super fast so you can save time and money. The build quality of the HP M477fdw is very good and it will last you for years to come. Stop throwing away your hard earned money on buying ink for inkjet printers and get the HP M477fdw today. I hope you enjoyed my M477fdw review, be sure to comment below with your thoughts.
